Disinterested & Starving LA concludes sale of its final NFT-themed burger

After two years in operation, a Los Angeles burger joint that used a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) nonfungible token (NFT) as its branding is serving its last burgers and fries and is being handed over to a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).

One of the co-founders, Andy Nguyen, mentioned in an X post on April 8, “Today we bid farewell to the original Bored & Hungry outlet in Long Beach, CA.”

Nguyen disclosed that the branding and franchising firm Hungry DAO has acquired the Bored & Hungry brand, which also operates in three locations in the Philippines, one in Seoul, South Korea, and has planned pop-up locations in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai for upcoming events.

The founding team of the restaurant will become shareholders in the DAO, and Nguyen confirmed that the brand will soon announce its new location in the U.S.

Established in April 2022, Bored & Hungry is among several businesses initiated by Bored Ape NFT holders, including a Cuban restaurant in Miami, utilizing the rights associated with their NFTs.

Nguyen expressed gratitude to the supportive BAYC and Web3 community for enabling them to mark history by being the first to leverage ownership of a digital IP asset to develop a restaurant brand. He stated, “We take pride in our achievements and look forward to the community’s future endeavors.”

Bitcoin NFT gaming console priced at $500

Ordz Games, a gaming platform based on Bitcoin Ordinals, intends to launch a Bitcoin gaming device and crypto wallet resembling a Game Boy, reportedly priced at $500.

At the Web3 Gaming Expo in Hong Kong on April 7, Ordz unveiled the BitBoy One, a device with a name derived from combining “Bitcoin” and “Game Boy”, distinct from the crypto influencer of the same name turned “fighter.”

Based on the report by GamesBeat, Ordz Games estimates that the console will be around $500, with pre-orders expected to commence in mid-April.
